The cold water startles the body, this releases adrenaline and the increases the heart rate. After a while the body will relax. This relaxation results in an energy boost and one experiences more motivation physically and mentally. A cold bath also works well for stress because the body releases tension and thus relaxes completely.
After an intense workout, a sauna session or a soothing steam bath, it is important to lower your body temperature. When you then sit for 10 - 20 minutes in a not too cold bath or cooling down room, the waste products in your blood are discharged. The risk of muscle pain and inflammation decreases.
In case of physical discomfort, always check with your doctor before using an ice bath. Also called Ishnan, cold water therapy strengthens the nervous system. The body starts fighting the cold on its own, blood starts flowing and capillaries open. As a result, the body no longer feels cold under the water, but actually warms up under its own power. This is actually a meditative exercise, which helps improve the nervous system and will lead to improved concentration.
The ideal temperature for an ice bath is between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius; it is possible to add ice cubes to the water. In an ice bath, there is no visible ice; the water is continuously pumped around to maintain a low temperature.
This cycle can be repeated several times.
It is possible to optionally equip the Ice Pool with an oxygen bath, massage bath and/or color therapy.
